Cedar Rapids native Madison Bartlett just cannot recall a time when she was not surrounded by artwork. Bartlett reported it has often been her outlet for self-expression.

Barlett’s identical twin is pursuing a degree at the Minneapolis Higher education of Art and Structure, and her uncle is a tattoo artist. In the earlier, her grandmother taught ceramics at a local local community center. Starting out as a self-taught artist in a household comprehensive of artists, Bartlett has hardly ever felt discouraged in her craft.

“While I understood I wanted to do art, I preferred to discover other things. Making artwork alongside her twin sibling, Hunter Bartlett, has been Madison Bartlett’s lifetime-long enthusiasm. They equally realized how to attract collectively by seeing animated classics like “Sailor Moon” and “Arthur,” which strengthened their passion for building artwork.

Bartlett started out as a double major in English and art education. Nonetheless, she fell in appreciate with the social function significant just after noticing schooling could not be for her. The show hosted a 30-foot banner taped to the ceiling depicting drawings of the objects most crucial to her childhood.

The windows held translucent childhood pics of Bartlett and her twin that she edited in excess of. On the wall was a paper cutout that cast a shadow of the words and phrases “I can only try to remember bits and pieces. How about you?”

On equally sides of the paper cutouts had been drawings of animated frames depicting Bartlett selecting up the childhood edition of herself.
